The Stonewall March was organized by Gay Activists in Los Angeles who felt a march was more appropriate than the Gay Pride Parade. In June 76 we had both a parade and a march to commemorate Stonewall riots
in 69 that sparked the Gay Right Movement in the U.S.A. The radicals and leftists organized Stonewall 76.

What a wonderful photo. I hope I can get it onto my desktop.
It was the Stonewall marches that led to us holding the first mardi gras in Sydney in 1978, in response to a letter requesting support.

Jo,

Thanks for your comments. Interesting Australian history but once again a Mardi Gras is not the same as a march so they didn't get it just like the Gay Pride people in LA didn't get it.
